Côtes de Gascogne IGP What the Duck Merlot-Tannat
Grape variety/vinification Made from Merlot and Tannat. The grapes undergo traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, optimally preserving their fruity aromas. After brief aging in stainless steel, an accessible red wine is created where fruit takes center stage, without overpowering wood influences. Tasting note Deep red in color with ripe aromas of blackberries, plums, and subtle spicy notes. The palate is smooth and fruit-driven, with soft tannins, fresh acidity, and a nice balance. The finish is elegant, juicy, and pleasantly long. Wine/food pairing Delicious with grilled poultry, duck breast, and charcuterie. Also an excellent choice with light meat dishes, pastas with tomato sauce, and young to semi-aged cheeses.
