What can you expect from an IPA?

IPA stands for India Pale Ale: a beer style in which hops play the leading role. In this collection, you will find the beers we classify as IPAs. Are you specifically looking for a NEIPA, West Coast IPA, Session IPA, Double IPAor Triple IPA? You will find those in our separate subcollections.

There is also plenty to discover within this selection. Hop varieties, malt, yeast, and the brewer's choices ensure that every IPA has its own unique character.

What does an IPA taste like?

Hops can provide aromas and flavors of citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruit, flowers, or pine. The malt forms the base and can add light notes of bread, biscuit, or caramel. Together, they determine how crisp, full, dry, or rounded the beer comes across.

The bitterness is often noticeably present, but varies from beer to beer. Some IPAs finish dry and distinctly bitter, while others place more emphasis on fruity aromas and a softer balance. Therefore, the name IPA alone does not tell you exactly what to expect in your glass.

Which IPA is right for you?

Do you enjoy crisp beers with a dry finish? Then an IPA with citrus aromas and a clear bitterness can be a great choice. Do you prefer rounder flavors? Look for a variant in which the malt provides a bit more counterweight to the hops.
