Description
Met Nicolaas Delahaye brengt DELAHAYE BEER niet alleen een uitzonderlijke Dubbelbock op de markt, maar herinnert het ook aan een donker en intrigerend stuk Limburgse geschiedenis. Deze Dubbelbock eert Nicolaas Delahaye, een beruchte Bokkenrijder uit Gulpen. Zijn bijnaam “den Stomp” verwijst naar de afgehakte hand van een verhangen crimineel, die door de Bokkenrijders als kandelaar werd gebruikt tijdens hun duistere rituelen. Na zijn arrestatie werd Delahaye gefolterd in Valkenburg en stierf hij aan de galg in Gulpen op 18 december 1776, op 52-jarige leeftijd.
